Loving his second career
For more than 30 years, he had a career as a cartographer.
When it became difficult to find work in his field, he launched his second career as a personal support worker.
He loved this work more than he loved being a cartographer.
He loved meeting all of the people he worked with and knowing he made a difference in their lives every day.
This work is truly important and is essential for people to keep living their lives.
He was proud to do it and enjoyed it very much.
Now he visits his partner here on the palliative care unit.
After caring for so many people during his working life, he is grateful for the staff here. He appreciates how everyone is taking such good care of them both.
