Moving towards peace
She began her spiritual care journey by training in a large hospital in which she fell in love with palliative care. She appreciates the deep, meaningful connections and the intensity of journeying with patients and their families as they near end-of-life. It is an honour and privilege to be with people as they confide deeply personal thoughts, emotions and experiences or as she sits quietly just holding someone's hand. It is in this time, she finds, that people let go of pretenses, are truest to who they really are and are most open to moving towards spiritual, emotional and relational healing. She expresses deep gratitude to work at Bruyere on the PCU and takes heart from the opportunity to support staff as well as patients and loved ones as she facilitates movement from a place of emotional or spiritual distress towards a place of peace.
