Filled With Memories
She and her husband have had a tough three-year journey to get to this.
Now, here on the palliative unit.
He has had surgeries, radiation, chemotherapy, and now he is here, no longer able to talk.
But still, memories of him and their lives together surround her.
She is also so grateful for her family, friends, and former colleagues who visit and send their thoughts and support.
Her husband was a doctor, working in pediatrics as a surgeon.
He worked in many hospitals and was well respected and loved.
Through work, they travelled to many countries and had so many interesting adventures and experiences.
There are so many rich memories of other cultures and lands and fulfilling work for both of them together.
What a rich life it has been.
They jumped at any chance to travel, live in new countries. Work in different hospitals, and experience many unique cultures, views, and places.
It is hard to watch him leave this time.
But the staff and care are remarkable.
